Douglas Campbell, AICP, ASLA
|
|
Douglas Campbell has received international recognition for his work with partner Regula Campbell in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture; and environmental, urban and regional planning, and is noted for advancing these collaborative public arts as creative stewardship of the environment, forging renewed connections with community and the natural world.
Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Pomona College (BA, 1969) and the University of California at Berkeley (MLA, 1974). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Society of Landscape Architects. Since 1970, in addition to his professional practice, Mr. Campbell has been engaged in research and teaching, including appointments as Visiting Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California. Mr. Campbell is a registered Landscape Architect in the State of California; and Past President of the California Council of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He initiated his professional practice as a consultant to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Beirut, Lebanon in 1970.
His honors include major institutional and public art commissions, international publication, and numerous awards from the American Institute of Architects, American Society of Landscape Architects, and the American Planning Association. His work has been recognized by special awards including honors from the Public Art Index, the National Waterfront Center, the California Preservation Foundation, the Los Angeles Conservancy, the State of California Department of Rehabilitation for Excellence in Barrier-Free Design, and designation as Designer of the Year by the Southern California Xeriscape Conference.

Regula Campbell, AIA
|
|
Regula Campbell's design work is internationally known for its engagement with the natural and cultural landscape. She has also written and lectured widely on art and the landscape, specifically on the relationships between the arts of poetry and garden making.
Ms. Campbell is a graduate of Scripps College (BA, 1969) and the University of California at Los Angeles (M. Arch., 1978). She is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, the Inaugural Lois Langland Artist in Residence Program at Scripps College and an appointment as Visiting Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at the University of Southern California.

Their firm's internationally published projects include the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, the Pasadena Police Courtyard, Haskell Plaza at Western Washington University, Bixby Plaza at Pomona College, Imperial Beach Seacoast Plaza the Wilshire Boulevard corridor in Santa Monica, St. Matthew's Parish Church in Pacific Palisades and the Los Angeles Central Library. Current efforts include, the West Hollywood Veterans Memorial with United States Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, the CALTRANS Headquarters, the Broad Art Center at UCLA and the Audubon Center in Los Angeles, the Children's Garden at Rancho Santa Botanic Garden in Claremont and planning and design of a major new campus for the National Museum of Science and Industry in the United Kingdom.

Lori Silverman, ASLA
|
|
Lori Silverman, Vice President, directs the firm's broad range of public and private sector landscape architecture, urban design and planning projects including facilities for civic use, educational institutions, research and commercial entities, large scale residential development, recreational uses, and the entertainment industry. Ms. Silverman is a recognized leader in the design and realization of projects distinguished for sustainability, accessibility and response to the community.
She is directly involved in the design, coordination and management of all phases of project development, documentation and installation including long term maintenance and CAD process. In addition she has significant expertise in cost estimating and value engineering. Ms. Silverman is Landscape Architect and Project Manager for Our Lady of the Angeles Cathedral, Santa Fe Depot Improvements, and Broadway Streetscape Improvements; and has recently completed major assignments for the St Johns Health Center, Sony Culver Studios expansion, Pomona College, and Western Washington University.
Ms. Silverman's experience includes the City of Boston Parks & Recreation Planning and Development Office as Senior Research Analyst responsible for $25M Capital Improvement Program including extensive community involvement; and Benjamin Thompson and Associates of Cambridge, Massachusetts as a designer for IBM Corporate Headquarters, Southbury, CT, and Union Station, Washington, DC.
