MARLBOROUGH SCHOOL
Los Angeles, California 1996 - 1999
We have recently completed a five year process to develop a Master Plan for the expansion of Marlborough School in Los Angeles. We worked with representatives of the School and neighborhood groups to evolve a plan that meets the School's infrastructural, open space, recreational and athletics facilities needs while successfully addressing community issues related to traffic, noise, views, neighborhood character and security. Our Plan, scheduled for construction in summer 1999, incorporates into an integrated whole a new soccer field, center court and practice tennis facilities, competition swimming pool, and a variety of outdoor spaces including an amphitheater and gardens for gathering and instructional uses. Classical, axial organization of space is used to create a simple powerful landscape architectural composition.
